UCI Continuing Education reserves the right to deny acceptance to IUPP. Applicants who are not accepted into IUPP by UCI Continuing Education will be notified in writing. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
Applicants to IUPP are subject to disqualification for the following reasons:
- Enrollment in any university or college courses, other than ESL, following high school graduation, or failure to provide evidence for activities during this gap;
- Concurrent application to UC at the time of IUPP application.
If UCI Continuing Education finds evidence of either of the above after the student enrolls in IUPP, the student will be disqualified.
Applicants may request a deferral to another Program Start Date by submitting a deferral request in writing to UCI Continuing Education at least 30 days before the program start date. Notification under 30 days will result in a one-quarter housing charge. UCI Continuing Education will then issue a new Letter of Acceptance and Form I-20 for admission for a later start date. Deferral will be offered only once to each applicant. Applicants who defer to a later program with higher tuition and fees will be required to pay the corresponding tuition and fees.
UCI Continuing Education will refund an applicant’s Program Deposit only in the case of visa denial. In situations where the U.S. embassy or consulate has denied the applicant a Student (F-1) Visa, UCI Continuing Education will refund the Program Deposit if the following two conditions are met:
- UCI Continuing Education is notified at least 30 days before the Program Start Date that the student has been denied a Student Visa;
- UCI Continuing Education receives (1) the original written documentation from the U.S. embassy or consulate verifying that the Student Visa has been denied and (2) the original Letter of Acceptance (LOA) issued by UCI Continuing Education within 30 days after the Student Visa is denied.
Program Cancellation / Postponement
If UCI Continuing Education cancels or postpones a program, applicants will be encouraged to attend the program at a later date. If this is not convenient to the student, UCI Continuing Education will refund all of the Tuition and Fees that have been paid to UCI less the Application Fee.
No other refunds or transference of fees will be given.
Note: If a student wishes to withdraw from the IUPP at any time after the scheduled start date, he or she must consult with the University Preparation Programs Office in advance; failure to do so may result in expulsion and no refund or credit will be given.
