UC Irvine’s 10-Week Intensive ESL Program has been a member of UCIEP since 1989! UCIEP is an independent consortium of university and college-administered intensive English programs in the United States. Founded in 1967, UCIEP’s purpose is the advancement of professional standards and quality instruction in intensive English programs at universities and colleges in the United States. The 60-some prestigious member programs are committed to ensuring students receive the highest quality intensive English instruction from trained, professional teachers.

UC Irvine’s 10-Week Intensive ESL Program is a founding member of AAIEP, established in 1986. The English language programs offered by the nearly 300 AAIEP members are of the highest quality since all member programs are accredited by ACCET, CEA, or operate under the governance of regionally accredited colleges or universities.

The faculty of International Programs is very professionally involved, holding active memberships with TESOL and CATESOL and presenting regularly at national, state and regional conferences.

TESOL encompasses a network of approximately 60,000 educators worldwide and conducts a variety of workshops and symposia, including an annual convention, regarded as the foremost professional development opportunity for English language educators worldwide. TESOL’s mission is to develop and maintain professional expertise in English language teaching for speakers of other languages worldwide.

The leadership and key staff of International Programs are very professionally active, holding memberships in NAFSA and participating in its annual and regional conferences.

The Association of International Educators is a member organization promoting international education and providing professional development opportunities to the field. Hundreds of NAFSA members volunteer to serve the Association and thousands advocate for international education.
